• Wastewater treatment:
In Behdash Chemical Company, according to the nature of wastewater, chemical and biological methods are used to treat wastewater, and the treatment plant designed for this purpose has a capacity of 350 cubic meters of industrial wastewater and 150 cubic meters of human wastewater.
The input of industrial wastewater with an average load of 5000~3000 ppm mostly includes various detergents and organic substances, which according to the flow rate and volume of pollution, at the beginning, after adjusting the pH, it is directed to the chemical treatment section, and after treatment, part of the pollution load is reduced. Effluent is directed to the biological section.
In the biological section, which includes two aeration ponds with activated sludge, the purification work is done by microorganisms, therefore, in this section, the control of the population of microorganisms and the control of the required oxygen are very important. It should be noted that the digestion of organic matter is done by microorganisms.
After passing through the biological section and passing through the sediment trap, the activated sludge is separated from the purified wastewater and returned to the system, and completely clear and pollution-free water (pollution load below 200 ppm) is directed out of the factory. This water is used for agriculture and can be returned to the industry by re-purification.
In the human sector, human wastewater is also treated using biological treatment methods, and the output is directed outside the factory to be used for agricultural purposes.
At the output of the treatment plant system, by installing online sensors, the parameters of the purified effluent sent to the environment are measured, and the pollution load (COD), PH, turbidity and conductivity of the purified water can be seen at any moment. Thus, whenever any of the mentioned parameters goes out of the control limits, the relevant managers will be notified by SMS. It should be noted that the sensor data is uploaded to the site every 15 minutes and can be monitored by the environmental department. Also, randomly and without prior notice, samples are taken and analyzed by the forces of the Environmental Organization.
• Production of environmentally friendly products:
By producing sodium zeolite instead of (imported) sodium tripolyphosphate, Behdash Company was able to remove this harmful substance for the environment from the consumption cycle in the production of detergent powders.
Zeolite quickly turns into soil in nature, but sodium tripolyphosphate, entering surface water, produces algae and moss, which reduces water oxygen and destroys micro-aquatic organisms.
• Management of waste recycling:
In order to remove the dust inside the production halls and the factory area, this company prepared and installed a bag filter (an alternative to a wet scrubber) to prevent the dust from spreading in the area, the dust is collected and used again in the production process.
• Labor force:
With an expert and technical staff, this company currently has 7 back filter machines under construction. Also, the HSE team supervises the performance of the production units and provides support in waste management and delivers the items that cannot be recycled to the special materials waste complex in compliance with safety and health protocols.
• Reducing the consumption of polluting fuels and replacing them with clean energy or with a lower level of pollution:
To increase the efficiency of sulfonation production, which is one of the inputs of this SO3 gas unit, which is supplied by burning sulfur inside the factory, if the input sulfur has impurities, we will face a decrease in efficiency and environmental pollution. Considering these conditions, the company has been able to bring molten sulfur from Tehran Refinery to the factory in the form of molten sulfur (the first in Iran) to prevent air and soil pollution.
